While our passion for computer repair and customer service would justify providing service for free, the reality of running a business dictates that we must charge for our services. The following is a list of our current rates for services*.

  • General Rates
    • In-Store $66 per hour (minimum $50)
    • On-Site $79 per hour for Junior Tech Service** (1 hour minimum on-site service)
    • On-Site $105 per hour for Senior Tech Service*** (1 hour minimum on-site service)
  • Remote Support
    • $66 per hour
  • Emergency After Hours Support
    • Available when our shop is not open, rate is 1 ½ times our regular hourly rate
  • Flat Fee Charges
    • Complete OS Reinstall - $165 (does not include data transfer)
      • With Data Transfer - $198
  • Spyware/Adware/Virus Removal - $66/hr up to $198
  • Data Transfer- regular hourly rate, depends on the amount of data and ease of transfer
  • Component Install – $50 (customer provided, does not include cost of component)
    • Memory modules
    • Hard drives
    • Video and Sound Cards
    • Other expansion cards (may be additional fee for some cards)
  • Additional Fees
    • Travel/Mileage Fee for on-site service further than 20 miles from our shop- $.50 per mile

We also will accept any special requests or special orders. Components not provided by our customers for installation can be ordered from our shop.

*This list is provided for informational purposes only and actual rates may vary. On-site service begins from the time technician leaves the shop, unless otherwise specified.

** Junior Tech Service is provided by a qualified CompTIA A+ Certified Technician, Apple Certified Macintosh Technician (or equivalent) experienced in maintaining and troubleshooting common issues for home users and small businesses.

*** Senior Tech Service is provided by a qualified CompTIA A+ Certified Technician, Apple Certified Macintosh Technician (or equivalent) with extensive experience in maintaining and troubleshooting common and complex issues for home users and businesses of all sizes.

Computer Solutions LLC Earns Apple Service Endorsement

ROCKLAND (March 15, 2010)—Good news for Midcoast Maine Mac users! Todd Gustafson, owner of Computer Solutions in Rockland, has announced that his company has earned a service endorsement from Apple, Inc.

Until last week, local Apple customers had to trek to Augusta or even Portland for their in-warranty computer repairs. Now Mac owners who need service can benefit from a conveniently-located service center where the sidewalk sign reads, “We will fix it because we care.”
Apple doesn’t let just anyone repair in-warranty computer products for them. A strict set of guidelines and prerequisites must be met before a business may boast the title of Apple Authorized Service Provider. “It’s been several years since the area has had an Authorized Service Provider for Apple Computers,” says Gustafson. “We’re truly excited to be able to provide our Apple customers with a trusted local source for in-warranty computer repairs.” Gustafson is one of a select group of computer technicians who is a CompTIA A+ Certified for PC repair and an Apple Certified Macintosh Technician. 

Apple Authorization gives Computer Solutions access to Apple’s comprehensive technical support system, allowing Computer Solutions the ability to provide warranty repair service for all Apple computers covered under the initial year of warranty, or the 3-year extended “Apple Care” warranty period.  While the team at Computer Solutions has been able to service Apple Computers in the past, the new tools allow this warranty service, as well as the ability to train future Apple Certified Technicians within the organization.
